The new IQ Glass reception area at Sky House

A frameless glass façade creates a contemporary entrance design for the glazing showroom.

The entrance to Sky House has been completely redesigned in line with the renovation that completed in 2022. As part of the renovation, a new structural glass façade has been engineered to create a light and bright reception area, showcasing IQ Glass’ abilities working with frameless architectural glazing.

Stretching to an impressive 6.5 metres tall, the façade uses oversized panes of glass with a slim framed pivot door to grant access to the impressive glazing showroom. On the internal face of the frameless glass façade, slim steel sections create mullions within the façade to provide structural support. These steel sections have been powder coated in a light bronze colour, in keeping with the modern and minimal entrance design.

Beyond the glass façade and the large pivot door which can open both inwards and outwards, a spacious reception area with a poured concrete desk welcomes you to the design centre. The concrete desk was created on a completely bespoke basis to suit the contemporary interior design, in keeping with the oversized wall and floor tiles that can be seen throughout the new showroom space. For the wall tiles, concrete effect tiles create a modern industrial design that is surrounded by neutral, white walls.

To the left of the reception desk, internal sliding glass doors have been installed in a 3 pane configuration, leading the way to the new glazing showroom. This MIRO sliding door system was designed in house by the IQ team of designers, offering slim framed aluminium solutions which are perfect for creating a coherent design throughout the interior design in highly glazed spaces.

The waiting area within the new reception features a modern furniture including armchairs with intricate leather stitching detail. Two large canvases were commissioned specifically for the reception area by AGL Interiors, using 3 dimensional patterns which were created with acrylic paint and have been hung side by side over the sofa. The one of a kind artwork is perfect for the contemporary interior design, adding character to the space without detracting from the minimal design.
