The Glass Lit House - Part 2

Watermark Kitchens Elegant Bronze Metallica Design

Following on from, ‘The Glass Lit House’ which focuses mostly on the input of IndigoZest’s smart home technology features of this high-tech home. Part 2 elaborates on the process Watermark Kitchens went through to create this elegant and clean-cut bespoke kitchen design.

This 3-storey home in Hertford with panoramic views of the surrounding woodland is home to busy clients who are often out of the country on business.  It was made clear that the main objective of the kitchen design was to ensure it was easy to keep tidy and so the minimalist style was highly desired.  To achieve this, all appliances are integrated and there is ample storage space to ensure everything has its designated place.

The homeowners have a substantial amount of wine and so Watermark Kitchens included a Caple Tall Integrated Wine Fridge to show off their impressive collection which is shown above.

To avoid the constraints of a conventional extractor, with bulky styled hoods and sharp head height corners, the BORA Classic was specified. The BORA Classic sets the standard for modern kitchen aesthetics and ties in with this client’s desires of keeping the design minimal with greater storage space.  A traditional extractor/hob can be rather distracting, to the overall elegance of a design like this and so with the design of the BORA Classic being so sleek (as below) it was a great choice.

The clients are passionate about cooking, therefore the need for lots of cooking functions were paramount which the BORA Classic hob offers.  The BORA Classic hob also draws off odours and grease particles directly from the cookware as the steam is pulled from the middle of the hob, instead of rising above and spreading odours throughout the space.  The BORA extraction system has endless advantages, including the extraction system is significantly quieter than that of a conventional one.  Other integrated appliances used in this kitchen were designed, supplied and installed by Watermark and consist of the following: • Neff Slide and Hide Single oven • Neff Microwave Combination Oven • Neff Warming Drawer • Neff Tall Integrated Fridge • Neff Tall Integrated Freezer • Neff Integrated Dishwasher • Franke Undermounted Sink • Quooker Fusion Square boiling tap • Evoline Pop up Power

The German handless kitchen cabinetry gives a sleek and sharp finish with satin lacquer doors in the colour ‘Taupe’, mixed with ‘Copper Metallico’.  The worktop used is a 20mm Dekton Worktop in the ‘Entzo Natural’ range.  A 6mm ‘Bronze Tinted Mirror” finished splashback gives that wow factor, which contributes beautifully to the overall design.  This kitchen design is both current, yet timeless which is perfect for a stylish and busy couple.
