For a seamless smart home, a robust network infrastructure is required offering the whole house excellent Wi-Fi coverage. The inefficient router from a previous broadband provider was replaced with a number of access points using one robust and efficient network.

A flexible lighting control system has been provided so the home owners do not have to go from one end of the room to the other to control different lights. In addition, the smart home technologies can all be controlled from a phone or iPad which sits in a wall in a docking station.

The garage door and front gate have been integrated into the home security and can also be controlled from the iPad. One of the biggest benefits of integrated home technology like this is the additional security you get, and it enables the ability to operate the lighting and heating remotely from anywhere in the world as long as there is an internet connection. This means whenever you go out, the system has the capability of turning on selected lights to simulate the presence of someone in the property.
