Exterior Solutions Showroom Makeover

Last week the Exterior Solutions showroom had a makeover at the Sky House Design Centre. The Exterior Solutions bay features a broad range of premium floor and wall finishes, suitable for internal and external uses.

Exterior Solutions have been partners with Millboard since 2007, supplying their composite decking. Millboard is well-known for creating the most premium non-wood decking on the market. Due to the terrible British weather, Millboard could see that the main weakness of a natural wood timber decking was that its beauty was being ruined. They then created a decking material that has the same visual appeal of natural wood plus incredible performance and maintenance benefits.

After many consultations with clients, it became clear that they wanted to be able to test the decking properly as all examples of Exterior Solutions’ products were previously placed on the wall. Although this allowed them to feel and see the aesthetic, some clients wanted to be able to get a real feel for what they would be purchasing.

The Installation Process:

The installation of the new Millboard decking only took one day to complete. To start the installation process off, the original decking examples had to be taken down to provide a space for the base to be installed.

The next step was to lay the foundation for the composite decking to be installed with wooden slats running up the wall and a decking base on the ground, slightly risen to create the step. Once the foundation was laid, the composite decking for the base was installed.

The composite decking was then installed onto the wall to provide a larger area of each finish for the clients to see and get a feel for.

The image below shows the completely renovated stand. This stand was designed and installed to allow visitors to the showroom to test the decking by seeing the finishes available, feeling the composite decking for texture and standing on the decking to visualise how it will be in their chosen space.
